This commission was a big change to my normal brighter works. Black is such an emotional colour to work with as a base. The journey from wet to dry, is like that of the colour; mysterious yet beautiful.

The ancient Chinese regarded the dragon as the most potent of all symbols of energy and good fortune, incredible luck and high achievement. Together with the Phoenix, the dragon symbolizes perfect balance. The dragon is a symbol of Yang and the phoenix of Yin and their union is representative of good luck, success, love, and enlightenment.
